Move Here

It’s all right here. Fresh air. Room to run. World class museums. Tony-winning theater. A thriving farm-to-table movement. Relatively low cost of living. And yes: an extraordinary independent school where your child can thrive.

Pine Cobble School, a Pre-K through 8th grade independent school, invites you to come and take a look around.

You won’t see evidence of the rat race here. You won’t find pretentious facilities, a million-dollar stage, or Olympic-worthy athletic facilities. We’ll be honest: you won’t even find a dedicated gym. What you will find are those things that fuel children’s hearts and minds: 20+ acres to explore. Fields to run on. A tiny, magical frog pond. A garden where Pre-K students plant seeds and watch them grow. Children’s art everywhere you turn. Shady trees for reading. Great books. Healthy food. Laughter. Joy. Spontaneity. Community.

We’re close-knit. Proudly un-fussy. We work hard, and we play hard. We give heart and soul.

Families who have relocated specifically for Pine Cobble will attest: we’re worth moving for. But here, you get more than a great school: you also get a terrific place to live. Williamstown, Massachusetts is home to Williams College, the Williamstown Theatre Festival, the Clark Art Institute, and one of just two remaining  independent single-screen movie theaters in the country.

The town next door, North Adams, is home to MASS MoCA, the largest contemporary arts museum in the United States. North Adams just made Travel + Leisure Magazine’s list of Ten Charming Towns That Aren’t Famous Yet But Soon Will Be. The Berkshires as a whole — widely known as the place where natural beauty meets high culture — made Travel + Leisure’s 50 Places to Visit in 2018.  Bennington, Vermont — another terrific community — is just a few miles away.

We’re 3 hours from Manhattan, 2.5 hours from Boston, within one hour of Albany International Airport and an Amtrak station.

Need financial aid? We’ve got that, too. We’ll even put you in contact with realtors, movers, pediatricians and veterinarians.

Like we say: It really is all right here. Take a day. Enjoy a no-pressure look. Contact Nicole LeBeau at admissions@pinecobble.org.
