Vermont

Chances are, you love Vermont for its rolling hills and wide open spaces. For its quality food and roll-up-your-sleeves work ethic. For its low-fuss wholesomeness and embrace of the arts.

Vermont is a place where a child can run freely, get lost in nature, eat real food, and discover the satisfaction of work with purpose.

Pine Cobble School may be a few miles over the border in Massachusetts, but the spirit of Vermont is alive and well here. We’re a small independent day school, from preschool through eighth grade. In any given year, up to a third our students come from Southern Vermont — from Shaftsbury, North Bennington, Bennington, Pownal, Readsboro, and Stamford. We’re just a stone’s throw from Vermont (17 minutes from Bennington), and both the education and experience we offer are unparallelled in the region.

Best of all, students can ride the Green Mountain Express bus directly to and from our campus…for free!

Here, students take Latin and Spanish, debate complex ideas, learn to apply mathematics to the world around them, and delve into literature.. Students engage in community service, do original scientific research, and become powerful public speakers. Best of all, they experience joy, wonder, and community as they do all of these things.

Sound too good to be true? Recently, when an upper school student (a Vermonter herself) transferred into the school, she said, “I honestly didn’t know school could be like this.”

We accept all Vermont vouchers, so a first-rate education has never been easier…or more affordable.

We’d love to meet you and show you why so many Vermonters choose Pine Cobble…and also why a good beginning never ends.
