Pine Cobble School Announces Two New Scholarships

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Scholarships offered to two new students entering grades 4-8 for 2013-14 school year

WILLIAMSTOWN, MASSACHUSETTS, March 15, 2013. Pine Cobble School is pleased to announce the availability of two new scholarships. Students of good character from the northern Berkshires, southern Vermont, and eastern New York are encouraged to apply.

The scholarships are open to qualifying new students entering grades 4-8. Scholarships cover at least 90% of tuition (excluding activity fees). It will apply to the tuition for each academic year the student attends Pine Cobble School, for a minimum of two academic years, providing the students remain in good standing.

The application deadline is May 15, 2013, but students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.

Scholarships will be awarded to new students who have demonstrated the traits associated with lifelong scholarship. Depending on the age of the student, these may include curiosity, willingness to seek and accept new challenges, creativity, love of reading, hard work, citizenship, and cooperation with others. Pine Cobble understands younger children will demonstrate these traits in ways which differ from those of older students, and we are open to considering all students who are prepared to embrace the opportunities offered by a Pine Cobble education.

Jude Collins, Clarksburg Massachusetts, who transferred to Pine Cobble at the start of this academic year, encourages all students to apply.

“I know it can be scary to start a new school, but this one is really great,” he said. “Everyone at Pine Cobble was very welcoming. From the first day, students and teachers from every grade knew me and were really friendly. It’s a great community, and that makes it easier to work hard and to try new things.”

“I’m so glad I came to Pine Cobble,” he adds. “I just love it here.”

Pine Cobble offers an extraordinary education to students,” said Susannah Wells, head of school. “These scholarships allow us to make this education accessible to even more students, and we’re delighted to offer them.”
