Math Specialist

Ashley Amsden has worn many different educator hats over the last seventeen years, from teaching music lessons to leading trail crews, from facilitating ropes courses to earning an MsEd in integrated learning, and from leading hikes to teaching fifth grade. Now in her third year as the math specialist at Pine Cobble, Ashley finds so much joy and fulfillment in learning about how her students learn math and in matching their learning styles with the most engaging and effective activities to meet their specific needs. When she is not playing Fractions War or Target Number at school, she loves to garden, cook, knit, and hike, and—along with her husband, Michael, and their children, Maggie and Everett—to care for the many animals on her farm.

BM, Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam
