Grade 5

Jeff Uhas marked his tenth year at Pine Cobble School in 2023. Previously he taught for seven years at Berkshire Country Day School, in Lenox, Massachusetts. He earned an MEd at Manhattanville College and a BA in American history at Boston College, with a minor in American studies. After completing his undergraduate studies he worked in museums on Nantucket and in Boston. Later he became an AmeriCorp volunteer in New Hampshire; taught environmental education in the public schools in Manchester, New Hampshire; built hiking trails; and taught at a small independent school in San Francisco, California, for three years, and at the Brunswick School in Greenwich, Connecticut, for two years.

Jeff has coached soccer, basketball, baseball, and volleyball at the youth and high school levels. Originally from a small town in Northern Michigan, he spends much of each summer there, together with his wife and their two boys. They live in an over two-hundred-year-old home in South Williamstown that was once part of an all-boys school.
