Pine Cobble School and Green Mountain Express Offer Vermont Bus Route
Partnership allows Vermont students safe, easy transportation to Williamstown School
WILLIAMSTOWN, MA, November 8, 2018. Pine Cobble School and Green Mountain Express have partnered to provide a free bus service to Pine Cobble students. The school is now a stop on the purple line; approximately 5-10 students ride the bus to and from school each day.
In the mornings, the bus leaves from Pleasant Street in downtown Bennington at 7:00 AM. At the end of the day, the bus leaves Pine Cobble at 3:40 PM, arriving in Bennington by 4:15 PM. While they don’t offer door-to-door service, they’ll stop anywhere along their route with advance request.
Ann Pibal, a Bennington College professor, says that her daughter has had a great experience using the bus service. “There’s always a nice group of kids who ride it, and the driver is wonderfully friendly and attentive. Typically, Pine Cobble students are the majority of the riders.”
Pibal says the hours are perfect for her family. “The bus departs school a half an hour after the day ends,” she says. “This gives our daughter just enough time to spend time with friends, or check in with her teachers, before leaving campus. In autumn, we especially enjoy meeting the bus at the Apple Barn, and have a sweet routine of picking up apples and a treat on our way home from school. Pleasant Street is a nice option too — at all times of the year.”
The school honors Vermont educational vouchers, and approximately twenty Pine Cobble students come from Vermont.
Pine Cobble School offers tremendous opportunities to students from Berkshire County and the surrounding areas. Our academic program is dynamic, engaging, and highly individualized. Powerful enrichment opportunities include a strong focus on the arts, an inclusive athletic program, and an array of extracurricular experiences.
