A Successful Spring Musical
Back in mid March, The Pine Cobble Players took to the Williams College Adams Memorial Theatre stage to share their presentation of Mary Poppins Jr. The musical featured a star studded cast composed of our Intermediate (4-6) and Upper School (7-8) students. Each of them performed with both love and joy in their hearts, and their onstage smiles were simply “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!”

Eclipse Gathering
Earlier this spring, caregivers, families, and friends joined us to celebrate the spectacular occurrence of the April eclipse! Mr. Keller’s 3rd and 4th Grade STEAM students led a brief activity explaining the logistics of an eclipse followed by cookies, photos, and a collective viewing that’s sure to be remembered! We appreciate the donation of eclipse glasses made by Dr. Kevin Flaherty and his team that allowed us to safely participate in the viewing of this year’s eclipse.

Intermediate School Poetry Workshops
In addition to the eclipse, April also served as a time to highlight poetry. Guest artist, Xavier Jones, spent some time with our 4th and 5th Graders to explore the beauty and power of language through poetry. A local poet and entrepreneur who’s devoted to servicing his community, Jones facilitated his workshop with kindness while offering our students a sincere curiosity that established a safe space for them to effectively share their reflections on fear, change, and perseverance. Eventually, students shared and analyzed a selection of poetry while crafting their own writing styles. It was such a joy to be in a space where creativity happened so sincerely, freely, and confidently!
Williams College Museum of Art: Emancipation
In an effort to explore art as both social and historical commentary, Intermediate and Upper School students visited the Williams College Museum of Art to explore Emancipation: The Unfinished Project. Featuring a number of prominent Black American contemporary artists, the exhibit was a fantastic way to conclude our Beyond Black History Project while also connecting our students to local institutions.
