Pine Cobble School is a co-educational day school for children in preschool through eighth grade. For over eight decades, Pine Cobble has nurtured creativity, curiosity, outstanding character, and a lifelong love of learning.
Our mission is “to cultivate in each student a lifelong passion for learning, a strong sense of self-worth, and respect for others throughout the community.” This mission is what drives us, every single day. It drives us to approach every moment as a teachable moment. It’s what inspires us to go the extra mile for our students, to bring out their excellence as scholars, artists, athletes, and human beings with integrity.
Our students hail from Berkshire County, Massachusetts, Southern Vermont, and New York State*. Here, on our beautiful 20-acre campus — originally an estate designed by Olmsted Associates — they begin to appreciate the values of hard work and joyful learning, excellence and kindness, community spirit and individual talent, intellectual inquiry and boundless imagination.
Ask our families why they love Pine Cobble, and they might say it’s because of the school’s exceptional faculty, and our excellence in academics, arts, and athletics. They might say it’s our close-knit, supportive environment, which boosts students’ confidence and removes the most common barriers to a joyful education. They might say it’s our rigorous curricula, or our outstanding student-faculty ratio of 4:1. Or they might say it’s the way our students come to know themselves as scholars, community members, athletes, and friends. Or, more likely, they might say that it’s all of these things, together.
Ask our students on the other hand, and chances are good they’ll say simply this: Pine Cobble makes learning fun. Welcome to the community; we’re glad to show you around.
